So a funny thing happened on my way to finishing this month's one monthly goal... My goal was to finish my Prince Edward Island MQG mystery quilt. I had finished all of the steps of the modern quilt option, but I forgot to print out the final instructions! Have no fear, I'm not good at following directions anyway. I decided to use what I had and wing the rest!
I did see a few of the modern quilts posted on the PEI MQG Facebook page.
I really like this variation.
I knew when I started this quilt that I would be gifting it to a friend of mine from my pre-quilting, pre-TBI days. Lorilee Craker and I were part of a writing group we called The Guild. One of her more recent books is Anne of Green Gables, My Daughter, and Me. It's a beautiful memoir and when I saw that the Prince Edward Island MQG was doing a mystery quilt, I knew I would be making an Anne of Green Gables quilt for Lorilee.
I added a quote because it was a fitting tie to Lorilee and I's ties as writers. And when I chose the quote about kindred spirits, I knew I needed Anne and Diana on the quilt too.
I was able to deliver the quilt this past weekend during a quick trip to Michigan for the AQS Quilt show.

Oh, that's so great to have Anne of Green Gables blocks for this quilt! I love your list of prior OMGs so I added that to my blog post also. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping you at least saved it on your computer as a print friendly! I don't know what I would do without that on my Bookmarks Toolbar! That's very pretty quilt, and you will figure something out. =)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great quilt. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project.
