Landscaping Design

When our landscaper arrived today, he had a little gift for us:

This is the design for the front of the house, which is the priority for this year, because when the lawn and front landscaping is done, we can get back a sizable deposit from our home association. Next year we'll add some foliage to the back and other side of the house. 

Here's what the front looked like around noon.

Right now, the guys are raking the yard and using the Bobcat to sift the soil for big rocks. They've already put in the top soil in front and along the rock garden on the tulip side, and are almost ready to start mulching.

A new hiccup in the plan is the weather. Usually, this would look great:

Unfortunately, because it's been so dry lately, the sod place is no longer guaranteeing their sod. Even people who are constantly watering their sod are seeing it brown up. So, we need to decide if we want to hold off on that for a few more days. I looks like it might (might!) ran early next week, so we'll see. We're seeding the backyard, so we'll start on that first.
