I am forever losing track of my sunglasses. My traumatic brain injury (TBI) causes me to have light sensitivity, so if I'm outside, I'm almost always wear sunglasses. I wear them in the car (mine or Niels). I even wear them to church most weekends. I try to keep a pair in both cars, but now that we live in a neighborhood, we're in and out of the house all the time, and I've been grabbing my car pair. And then they'd get left everywhere and anywhere. So, today I found a solution.
I was pretty sure our door was steel, and voila! Yes, it is. (I checked while it was still in its package). This rod is adjustable, but I found that keeping it at the smallest size made it fit right inside the panel.
Works like a charm. I put the rod up at eye level, so I shouldn't miss them!
I also realized that it would work well for keys, too. Especially because we use carabiners like these.
(If ,you only want to hang your keys, you can use metallic hooks, but they don't seem to be as strong as the rod.)
I did tweak the gold support by coloring it with my silver Sharpie to go along with the brushed nickle door handle.

What a great idea! We have some key hooks next to the door, but my husband left the house yesterday without his! Maybe putting them on the actual door itself will help. :-) Thanks so much for sharing this at The CSI Project!
ReplyDeleteHuh, never would have thought of that. Good thinking!
